“Mature love is loving, not being loved.” - Irvin D. Yalom
Kelsie completed her undergraduate degree at Harding University earning degrees in psychology and leadership in ministry. She went on to receive a masters degree in Counseling at Colorado Christian University.
In her first years in the field, she noticed the trend of individuals understanding their patterns of self-sabotage but still feeling unable to break these as the therapeutic work they have done was all cognitive and therefore, had not resulted in a heart change. To address this, Kelsie pursued continued education in order to better help these particular clients. She is trained in EMDR and is a MINT certified Motivational Interviewing trainer. She is passionate about understanding the neurobiology of those she is helping and providing evidence based treatment. Kelsie specializes in working with victims of severe trauma and/or suicidality.
In addition to this, she has experience helping people leave homelessness, overcome addictions, leave abusive relationships and has worked in residential treatment with at-risk youth.
Kelsie is passionate about helping people realize the potential they hold within themselves to heal. She holds the belief that when an individual’s values and actions align, they will experience a full life. Kelsie’s hobbies include anything outdoors, exploring new coffee shops, thrifting and running.
