Lauren Jefferies, M.S., LPC Associate, NCC

Originally from Texas, Lauren has lived in San Antonio for the past 10 years. Here, she has obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She then continued on at UTSA to obtain her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Lauren believes that healing is fostered when an individual has a safe space to show up fully and authentically. It is important to Lauren that her clients be met with support and acceptance, and she approaches individuals with empathy and unconditional positive regard. Lauren believes that this allows clients the opportunity to dive into themselves and work through their personal battles with clarity and support.

Lauren enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide variety of presenting concerns. Grief and bereavement hold a special place in her heart. She is also passionate about working with mood disorders, as well as trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, relational problems, and life changes. Laurens works from a person-centered and holistic approach.

In session, she utilizes; Expressive Arts, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Play Therapy approaches depending on the needs of the client. Lauren believes that every individual is incredibly unique, and therefore their treatment should be as well. Therefore, she believes that the therapeutic relationship should be collaborative and tailored to the client.

For self-care, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, traveling, practicing yoga, spending time outdoors, and playing with her pug- Yoda.
